Northland Scaffolding were asked to provide exterior scaffolding and a temporary roof structure spanning 26m wide × 45m long for an aging building in central Whangarei.

Temporary Roof Solution

This was a job made for Layher’s Keder XL temporary roof system! Chris Douglas of Northland Scaffolding explained, “one of the main requirements was to provide a temporary roof solution which could be opened at different stages during the refurbishment works, enabling structural steel to be craned in.”

Whangarei Keder Roof

The Keder Roof XL sheets can simply be pulled back and reinstated, allowing materials to be delivered or removed from site with ease. This substantial temporary roof was supported by Layher Allround (modular) and SpeedyScaf (frame) scaffolding systems. Layher’s Aluminium Beams were used to support shrink wrap at the end of the roof.

Very happy customer

Chris went on to say that “the guys loved the fact that they could complete the entire Keder Roof XL build in one day, (by crane lift), where it would have taken two to three weeks constructing a traditional roof working at height.”

“The customer is very happy with the solution and service provided by Northland Scaffolding. It met all of their construction needs in a challenging situation”, said Chris.
