Wellington Town Hall Strengthening
Camelspace were contracted to provide safe access for earthquake strengthening work on Wellington’s Town Hall. Guy Conroy of Camelspace said “the five-month long project incorporated a buttress scaffold to support the concrete parapet at the top of the building, and a drilling platform for inserting steel strengthening rods.”
3D scaffolding drawings
Edgardo Escaro, Layher Senior Engineer, assisted Camelspace with the plan and produced 3D drawings which made it easier to explain things to Wellington City Council’s engineering team.
Impressed with speed
The design included several solutions including Layher’s Allround Scaffolding system, aluminium beams and the contractors favourite, platform stairs. Commenting on Camelspace, the customer said they were really impressed with the speed of installation and the innovative 3D drawings.
Thank you to Guy Conroy of Camelspace for the use of these photos.
