Under Bridge Rolling Platform

Euro Scaffolds was contracted to supply Abseil Access Limited with a scaffold to access the underside of the Rangitikei River Bridge (circa 1925) on the Napier Taihape Road. This hung scaffold was needed to undertake water blasting and coating treatment to the near 100 year old timbers which were being restored.

Rolling working platform

Hugh Laity commented “the challenge for Euro Scaffolds was that no fixings or fastenings were allowed to the old structure. Using ‘I’ beams (usually associated with shore loading) and some purpose made brackets a rolling working platform made of Layher Allround scaffolding and aluminium beams was successfully attached to the bridge. Two boat trailer winches were then attached to the scaffold to help move the working platform backwards and forwards”.
