Telecom Exchange
This Christchurch demolition project became even more complicated when Fletcher Construction discovered Asbestos in the Telecom Exchange roof.
Propping scaffold
Elliott Scaffolding used Layher Allround on the building facade for access and containment, Layher Allround for propping one floor below the demolition and Layher’s aluminium 750 beams on the roof with a wrap for weather protection. Underneath this temporary roof plywood and an additional membrane was installed to create the negative atmosphere required for the removal of the asbestos.
Trevor Elliott commented that despite the discovery of asbestos the project progressed on schedule and the client was very happy with the responsiveness of Elliott Scaffolding supported by Layher’s design and logistical capability.
