Roof Goes XL
Civil Works Scaffolding were asked to provide a weather protection solution for a fast-food restaurant on the Kapiti Coast. McDonalds Paraparaumu is located on the old highway and recently underwent renovation works.
Civil Works Scaffolding’s Gary Porter explains “the 6-week project involved meticulous planning and an innovative solution. We chose to use Layher Allround Scaffolding and Layher’s Keder Roof XL for the quality, flexibility and how the products integrated with each other.”
“Measuring 25 metres in length, with a span of 22.5 metres, the Keder Roof XL tarpaulin, with removeable sections, allowed the roof to be opened halfway through the project to remove the old air conditioning units and install new units, then reinstate the roof keeping the project dry,” said Gary.
About Layher, Gary said “we were really impressed with the support from the engineering design team. They showed us how to construct the Keder Roof XL in our workshop prior to the site installation. The additional drawings for setup and construction of the Keder XL and technical drawings helped to make construction on site a breeze using the 3D drawings (via QR Code), allowing all members of the team to access plans from their phones.”
To conclude, Gary said “the client was delighted by our professionalism and clever thinking when it came to the temporary roof solution. This project will likely lead to more jobs being awarded to Civil Works Scaffolding.”
