Malvina Major Scaffold
A quake-damaged block in Ryman’s Malvina Major retirement village has been demolished and completely rebuilt. Geeves Scaffolding were tasked with the job of providing access on this difficult site and used Layher’s Allround modular scaffolding system.
Major challenge
Adam Dumville of Geeves Scaffolding explained, “the sloping terrain was challenging, we needed to span 11m in one area and build 5 stories up.” He went on to say, “it was a tight site, so we constructed special loading bays to receive gear coming in, minimising congestion at ground level.”
Scaffold stairways
“The client was very happy with the solution [provided by Geeves] which included 1.4m wide walkways, and both internal and external stairways”, said Adam.
In conclusion Adam commented, “Layher provided full drawings for this project, and as always we were very happy with the service provided.”
