Foxton Swimming Pool
Civil Works Scaffolding were asked to provide a scaffold to access the roof beams of Foxton swimming pool.
Mobile scaffold
Gary Porter of Civil Works Scaffolding explains “the client, Apollo Projects, wanted all the underside of swimming pool roof fully scaffolded, without having the expensive weekly cost. The solution was to build a quarter of the roof area on a mobile scaffolding system. We fitted the Layher Allround Scaffolding structure with 1.2T castor wheels with half couplers. And when the builders needed to move to the next section of the roof, the entire scaffold was repositioned using a 4×4 winch.”
Innovative and economical
“Layher gear was easy to work with, with strong components to prevent any flex when moving the large mobile scaffolding. We really appreciated the quality of Layher’s products going together as designed and specified. The client was delighted with Civil Works Scaffolding’s innovative and economical solution,” said Gary.
Reduced project duration
To conclude Gary said “during the tendering process, we gave Apollo Projects the option to halve the required scaffolding platform by switching from a fixed scaffold to mobile scaffold. This innovative solution meant significantly reduced rental charges, whilst still providing plenty of room for site contractors to carry out their work. In addition, this solution reduced the overall duration of the project.”
