Boiler 6 Fonterra Clandeboye
Fonterra required maintenance to be carried out on Boiler 6 at their Clandeboye site in South Canterbury. Scaffold access to the exterior of the boiler for re-cladding and maintenance to the inside of the furnace was needed. “The challenge was to overcome narrow spaces where access was needed around very hot pipe work” explained Geeves Scaffolding Branch Manager, Paul Summerill, Timaru.
Fonterra boiler 6 speed required
Utilising the Layher Allround System provided the flexibility and speed required for this project. Geeves had been given a very detailed instruction from Fonterra in the form of a folder with marked up drawings and photos as to what access they required.
Boiler 6 built twice as fast
Fonterra commented that the scaffold was built twice as fast as the same job the previous year which was built out of tube and clip. They couldn’t fault the scaffold. “This job was a real challenge to the versatility of the Layher system, but it has worked very well for Geeves and Fonterra” said Paul.
