Euro Scaffolds Bridge
Euro Scaffolds were engaged by Downers to build a suspended scaffold below a rail bridge in Taumarunui. The scaffold provided safe access for strengthening work on the central pier. Euro Scaffolds used Layher Allround modular scaffolding and extensive design and engineering work was done with help from Layher’s engineers.
Hung off pier
The scaffold could not be suspended from the bridge and had to be hung off the pier itself. 1 in 15 year flood conditions were also considered in the design, and a ensuing flood put this engineering to the test! Despite tree size debris in the river the scaffold held together.
Three additional bridges
Jono Laity said the client was very impressed and work on three additional bridges was gained on the back of this successful project.
Thanks to Euro Scaffolds for the use of these photos.
