Augusta Apartments
Geeves Scaffolding was awarded the contract to provide scaffold access and a temporary weather protection solution for the Augusta Apartments leaky building reclad and roof replacement in the Wellington CBD.
Winds above 120km per hour
The project involved erecting a 16m free spanning Layher Keder temporary roof 10 stories up, and positioned in one of Wellington’s windiest zones. Tim Geeves commented “the Layher Keder roof was up for a period of 10 months and survived several storms with winds above 120km per hour, including the June 21st 2013 southerly storm where winds reached up to 170km per hour in the city causing widespread damage.
Happy client
The inspection straight after this storm revealed no structural damage, not even a rip in any of the canvas sheets or shrink wrap. The client was extremely happy they could work without weather delays throughout the entire project. In hindsight it would be hard to comprehend how you would complete this job without a Layher Keder roof”.
