Developers Viewing Platform
Sidewall Scaffolding was contracted to build this 11-metre-high viewing platform in Parnell Auckland.
Nick Rivet from Sidewall Scaffolding explains “we had the opportunity to collaborate with an Auckland based developer and build a scaffolding tower as a viewing platform to showcase the breathtaking views their future apartment complex will offer.”
Completed in one day
“Working with Layher, we provided them with our specifications, and they prepared a 3D design of the tower. This not only enabled us to have an exact gear list for loading purposes but also facilitated a quick and seamless erection process. Thanks to the well-thought-out design and components from Layher, our team of five men managed to complete the entire setup in just one day,” said Nick.
Nick continued “furthermore, our prior participation in Layher’s comprehensive Allround training proved invaluable. It provided us with a deep understanding of the wide range of components that Layher offers, allowing us to make the most of their scaffolding system.”
Luxury Parnell apartments
“One of the unique requirements of this project was the need for 3-metre high lifts and stairwell access. This was essential because the tower would be utilised by potential purchasers of luxury apartments, rather than builders. By incorporating these features into the scaffolding tower, we ensured a safe and convenient experience for those exploring the property’s offerings,” said Nick.
To summarise Nick said “when building a viewing tower, you want to make sure all who might need access have a sense of security and can focus on the beautiful views the tower provides. Using Layher’s Allround Scaffolding system gave us the confidence that with every component in place, everything will be secure and safe for our client. And we completed this project on time and within budget.”
Contractors were said to be impressed by the stability of such a tall standing tower. They were very pleased with Sidewall Scaffolding efficiency and that the viewing platform was able to fit their exact requirements.
