Broadway Cinemas and Olympic Pool
Upright Access Systems was contracted to provide scaffold access for the reclad of this prominent commercial building in Newmarket, Auckland.
The most challenging aspect of this scaffold build was on the Northern elevation where the scaffold needed to span a large glass roof.
Layher SpeedyScaf
Mick Curran explained, “to achieve this we used 27m long Layher Aluminium 450 trusses supported by Layher SpeedyScaf at each end and tubes coming off steel roof beams in the middle of the span. There were also 2 bays of scaffold dropped down below the aluminium trusses on each side of the span to allow access to the lower walls”.
Mick also commented he was grateful for the assistance of Kenneth Redman from Layher for his drawings and input on this scaffold project.
Thanks to Mick Curran of Upright Access Systems for use of this photo.
