Encapsulating Fonterra WPC Whareroa
DIALOG Fitzroy was tasked with encapsulating and providing façade access to this massive Fonterra Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) building near Hawera, Taranaki. Layher’s Allround modular scaffolding system and aluminium lattice beams, as well as two GEDA 500 ZZP hoists were used on this project.
Encapsulating Fonterra
Mark Dunn of DIALOG Fitzroy explains, “façade scaffolding needed to be erected 1 metre away from the WPC external walls to allow for poly panel installation. The building [including the roof] had to be completely sealed and wrapped, creating an air-tight environment, which allowed the factory to keep running. Working with Layher’s engineering team ensured we had a strong, practical scaffold which ended up surviving cyclone GITA and other high wind events that passed through the Taranaki region through the time of the build.”
