Falsework Rotokawa Power Station

Constructing the concrete pedestal to house the main turbine for this new geothermal power station required propping up to 14m in height to support a total weight of 750t. 650t was wet concrete, including seven beams up to 2m deep deposited in a single pour over twelve hours.

Hugh Laity of Power Scaffold and Access reported that the contractors, Hawkins/Sumitomo JV, were impressed by the 2.5m wide cantilevered working platforms and they "just loved" the stair access.
